Who we are
Nordic Paper & Packaging (Pty) Ltd
NPP represents leading Nordic and European producers of paper, packaging, plywood and timber in Southern Africa.
Our story
NPP was founded in 1994 by Göran Palmgren, who moved from Finland to South Africa to start an agency for the Finnish paper company Kymmene Corporation.
His son, Philip Palmgren, has been Managing Director since 2015.
Finnish paper has been sold in South Africa since 1948, and NPP continues that long trade history between Finland and South Africa.
What we do
Printing and converting paper is the core business. Plywood and timber are our growth areas, built on responsibly sourced Nordic wood.
Where we serve
From our head office in Cape Town and our sales team in Johannesburg, NPP serves customers across Southern Africa and the Indian Ocean islands.
Leadership
Philip Palmgren
Managing Director, Nordic Paper & Packaging
Philip leads NPP from Cape Town and is also Honorary Consul of Finland in Cape Town. He works daily with our Finnish and Nordic principals.
